The inspiration for the above forged iron pendent is a ginko leaf. I forged one end of a steel bar on my anvil into the ginko leaf shape and drew out or forged the opposite end on the anvil for the stem. I liked the idea of continuing the stem and creating a continuous circle. The loop from which it hangs on the cable is also made from one piece of steel that I forged into the final shape and it is rivetted onto the pendent with a hand forged iron rivet. The cable is a single cable made of sterling silver that has an antique patina which darkens the color to one that is close in color to the iron.
